Shakin' Moo's - Final day!

Today was the final day on the Shakin' moo's project. I made with some help, the presentation. there was no problem with the presentation except for missing a few spellings. But there was a bigger problem - this was for the entire project, I thought we where making a Poster but it fact we where designing a leaflet!!

This has not helped me at all but hopefully I can adapt what we have made from a Poster to a leaflet.

Today I had to make a the presentation with Ronny but this had many flaws.

1 The template on the slides.
2 What goes on them.
3 Transfering the advert onto the slides which we was not able to be do as the memory stick had not pick it up the file we need and it did not have Photoshop as far as I could tell.

I came into the school a little early as I struggled on the presentation so I hope it is good.

There was no problem with the group today. I got on with them but still Charley played games again but I can't make him work. I think that charley is just bored. This is really annoying. I understood what to do so am glad I knew. All together, not that bad a day :~)

Some good comments but try to explain how you would over come your problems and make progress.

At the start of today, I tried to make the flaming Cow advert but I found it whas too hard. As I tried to edit the Cow in to the fire so I continued with my folder. What I had to do today was get the notes from Ronny and Charley but it would seem that they had not made any so I made some.
I asked the question to Ronny as Charley was playing games. This was very annoying. I was glad that my group listened to me but there is maybe one problem that I have to try hard to make them work as it is like one thing a day with is not great as I want to do more. It is so hard to know what to do so I struggle.

Some nice comments here and you are explaining your own thinking more thoroghly now. well done for including the image. Try to explain how you might overcome your communication difficulties next week.

25/03/2010 Folder check - First designs

Today we had a folder check. I am easily confused with folders so I needed help so that I know what to do. I needed to make more designs for my folder as Charley and Ronnie had not made three designs. I made 8 more designs. I thought it would be easy but I ran out of ideas.

I made rough pencil sketches of: -

1. Penquin in a Cave wearing a fiery Jacket.
2. Competing Milk Shakes
3. Cow with Flames coming out of it's nose.
4. The Shakin' Moo's logo on fire.
5. Shakin' Moo's Milk shake bar on fire.
6. A Volcano with Milk shake coming out of it with Lava also flowing out.
7. A Blow-torch to warm up the shake.
8. A cup with hearts saying "I love Shakin' Moo's

The group did not care about what I had done as they all decided that they should go with the flaming Cow and had completed the research for this. I agreed with them.

The second thing I had to do was add more to my research report. I thought it would be easier to do at home as I had been told that youtube was down. what I needed to do was add is some work on researching fast food adverts.

I feel that in today's lesson my group did not comunicate with me at all as when I asked about the notes when they had made the three designs they had not made any!

18th March 2010 - Market Research

Today I had to go in to town with Charlie to get results for research on which advert was the best. The Flaming Cow is the most popular of them, but Charlie wanted to forge the results so he could go back! I said that we should ask at least 10 people. I think we asked 18 people in total.
one of the problems was that not a lot of people want to help us in the work as they where in a rush to get to where they had to be. From our survey, we found that the Flaming Cow was the most popular. The reason for this is that it was the most eye-catching with the best picture and text. I enjoyed today as a lot of work had been done. The hard thing is that with the Flaming cow is it's going to be hard to make. I tried hard with this and struggled with this which was a bit worrying.

11 march

Today I tried to find an image of a Cow and FIRE but the Cow image was not that good. It was not big a enough for the advert. I need to edit a image of a Cow and put the image in the fire background. At Parkside next week, I think I need a picture of the camouflage as I think that the Cow should be in that design. Not much happened today as we had a different teacher as I didn't under stand what to do as the work was continuing from last lesson and the work was finished or close to being finished.

Today I came back as I had been ill. I was shocked at the work which had been done as I thought that the Brownie Shake idea was good and I thought we were going to use it but it would seem that the Hot Shake is what we are now doing. When I got back, I asked what was going on. I was told we had three designs. These are: -

A Cup in Snow.
A Cup on Fire.
A Flaming Cow.

I understand that I was ill for a day but I didn't know that we had to make three designs and if so why didn't they use the Shakin' Moo's Cup in the Ski Jacket? Maybe I had the notes on this but as I was ill I was not there so the group did what they could. This is the only reason I can think of as to why they opted for other designs.

Today, we all went to Shakin' Moo's. We were briefed on the job in hand which is to make an advert for the Chocolate Brownie milk shake or the hot shake. I think that my co-worker misunderstand the brief as when we brain stormed he had gone on about the packaging of the Tesco Brownie for the shelf but I could have misunderstood the brief. I think I will do good in the work as I do not mind working in that group. if I could choose the brief I wanted to do the hot shake as the idea's the group came up with are good. The plan at the moment is to use a Shakin' Moo's container in a Ski Jacket and edit with Photoshop so it looks like it is in a cold or hot place. I doubt that it may be hard to make this but it could look great if we use that idea.

Photographic technique

Today we had to go and take pictures of random objects. We got the Wrench! It doesn't look like one but it would seem it is. My group took photographs of the Wrench in many positions. The Photo shows the wrench on a rail. When you look at the photo, you are led into it from the bottom left corner and you then start to follow the wall to the rail which you then follow until you come to the Wrench. Diagonals always work very well to lead you in but need to be well focussed as in this shot. You then think - "what is it"? I didn't take this shot but I took another but sadly the colour was not bright.

Change over to Photography

Today we changed over to Photography. We had to look at plumbing companies in the yellow pages and select an advert that appealed to us. After a short time, we selected a company. Then we had to make a small, quick Plumbing advert which might appeal to people. Then we had to make four Lunch designs for a made up company as it would show us how we would could create quick and simple designs.

We had to work in teams to make certain aspects of our adverts bigger and better. We wanted a picture of a Van but there was no Internet connection so we were stuffed. We where given a small Camera so we took a picture of the guy off "Envirophone" from one of the teams iTouch and then we imported the image onto the PC and edited the image with Photoshop and saved it.

I think we would have done better if the Internet was working as we could have downloaded any images we felt we needed.
